Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your special day will be filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments, and you'll want to capture those memories with stunning photographs. To ensure that you get the best possible wedding photos, here is a wedding photography guide to help you prepare for the big day.
- Find the Perfect Photographer: Check this one off your list - thanks so much for booking us to be your wedding photographer. Choosing your wedding photographer is one of the most important steps in planning your dream wedding and without amazing clients like you, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do!
- Discuss Your Expectations: It's important to discuss your expectations with us ahead of time, so we know exactly what you're looking for. Talk about the types of photos you want, any must-have shots, and any particular poses or styles that you like.
- Create a Shot List: Make a list of all the shots you want us to capture on the day of the wedding. This will help ensure that no important moments are missed. I have a list of key images but always open to additional images you may want to cherish..such as images of your long lost great-great-second-removed-half-cousin.
- Allocate Time for Photos: Make sure to schedule enough time for photos on your wedding day. Discuss the timeline with us ahead of time, and make sure to leave plenty of time for posed shots, candid moments, and any other shots you want to capture.
- Consider the Lighting: Lighting is one of the most important factors in creating beautiful wedding photos. Talk to us about the lighting in your venue, and consider having your ceremony or portraits during the "golden hour" when the light is soft and romantic. We also carry our Speedlites (flash) so your pictures will always turn out stunning no matter how dark the venue or the evening gets.Â
- Relax and Have Fun: Your wedding day is a celebration of love, so don't forget to have fun! Relax, enjoy yourself, and trust us to capture all the beautiful moments of your day. Candid shots often capture the most genuine emotions and expressions.
- Choose Your Favourites: Once your photos are ready, take the time to choose your favourites. Create an album or display your favourites in your home to remember your special day.
Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and your photos will help you remember it for years to come. By following these tips, you'll be able to ensure that your wedding photos are beautiful, memorable, and a true reflection of your love.
